Join the South Davis Recreation Center for our annual Handcart Days Half Marathon, Frontier 5k & Pioneer Pete 1k!
This event is a hoot and a holler! Pick an event (Half Marathon, 5k or 1k), and run with our Race Pacers in the Half and our Pioneer Pete in the 1K.
Make this a yearly tradition for you and yours!

Event schedule and times
Packet Pickup
- Friday, July 19; 4:00pm – 6:00pm
- Saturday, July 20; 5:00am – 6:00am (or 30 minutes before each race starts)
Race Start
- Half Marathon: 5:30am
- There is an option of a 5:00 am early start time that you may select at the time of registration. This early start is designed for the slower runner (14 min/mile+). The course and aid stations will not be staffed and ready until the regular 6:00am start time. Bringing your own water, as well as an extensive knowledge of the course is highly encouraged. PLEASE NOTE that all participants who select the early start option WILL NOT be eligible for overall and division prizes.
- 5K- 6:30am
- 1K- 7:30am
Finish
- You must wear your bib with the timing chip on the front of your body to cross the finish line. If you do not have your bib and chip on, you may not receive accurate results and will not be eligible for prizes.
- Finisher Medals for all finishers.
- Post-race snacks available for all runners
Awards
- Awards will be presented about 9:00am.
- Awards not taken during the awards ceremony will be available at the front desk of the SDRC at 12:00 Noon post race.
- Results are sent out via email and posted on our southdavisraces.com website.
